Taking shape on a quiet pedestrian-only lane less than a block from Brighton Beach Avenue and close to the famous boardwalk, Bright ‘nGreen, a design that includes six (6) residential units and a first level community-based commercial space, is a groundbreaking multi-family project built to the highest sustainable standards. At Bright ‘n Green we hope to represent a true paradigm shift in the way new residential buildings will be constructed world wide. Spreading awareness on net zero living is a pillar of our initiative. Bright ‘N Green features consist of a landscaping and bio-filtration based water treatment and conservation system. Triple-glazed Krypton-filled solar thermal treated windows and air-tight doors and hinges that will reduce the building’s carbon footprint and eliminate outdoor noise and Advanitx liquid desiccant technology air-quality system will keep the air inside the building purified. 133 solar panels, wind turbines, geotube geothermal and solar heating, , Passive House design, reclaimed flooring, Energy Star appliances, landscaped decks, birdhouses for migratory species, collection pond and stream, and ocean views.
In its preliminary design and constructions stages, Bright ‘n Green earned EPA and OER certifications and has since received the prestigious Green Site Award from the Mayor’s Office of Environmental Remediation, National Green Building Standard™ Green Certified at the Emerald level (Certificate #7914), and 4 out of 4 of the Green Building Initiative’s Green Globes Certification. Nearly completed, it is anticipated the building will additionally earn an EPA Air and Water Sense Certification,ENERGY STAR, LEED Platinum, Fit NYC Center for Active Design Recognition, NYSERDA Low Energy Multi-family Certification, NYC Brownfield Partnership Green, and Living Building Challenge Certification.
