During a press conference August 20th, President Jimmy Carter announced that he will begin treatment for melanoma. In honor of the great man we thought to share with you his 1977 Environmental Message to the Congress.
In case of a fire at Bright ‘n Green, along with smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and a fire standpipe and sprinklers, an extra ventilation system helps with smoke relief by pressurizing the main staircase for easier evacuation and fire department access. Building materials used in construction are non-combustible. The building’s structural elements, doors and walls are made of fireproof steel, and extra levels of protective coatings on gypsum board.

Monday marked the 100th anniversary of the opening of subway service from Manhattan to Coney Island via the Manhattan Bridge. In commemoration the MTA is putting into regular service vintage subway cars. Riders will be able to experience the varied cars this weekend from noon to 4PM, beginning at the Brighton Beach Q station.
