Green Condos nearing the finish line in Brighton Beach. Prices will start at $325,000 for a studio and go up to $850,000 for a two-bedroom with two baths. The building will sell energy back to the grid, and residents should have very low or no utility bills, as we wrote in November. There will also be composting toilets and a hot tub, said a story today in The New York Daily News.

Front and center is Bright ’n Green, Scarano’s slogan-named apartment building at 67 Brighton 1st Lane that he says — in his inimitable brash style — will be nothing short of revolutionary. “It’s wonderful!” gushed Pat Singer, the founder of the Brighton Beach Neighborhood Association. We recently completed a Green Globes® New Construction Stage II Assessment for the Bright ‘n Green Condominiums in Brooklyn, New York. Bright ‘n Green achieved a score of 837 out of 912 available points for a score of 92% which is equivalent to Four Green Globes® for leadership and excellence in the practice of energy, water, and efficiency to reduce environmental impacts.
